The Influence of “Raped Consciousness” on the Philosophy of Mind in Postcolonial Women’s Literature: Rejection of Corporeality in Literary Reception

Abstract

This article examines how postcolonial and post-totalitarian experience can fragment the creative mind and shape women’s rejection of corporeality and personal needs in contemporary short prose. Drawing on neurocultural, psychoanalytic, literary-philosophical, narratological, and reflexive approaches, the authors analyze representations of bodily-erotic identity, cultural alienation, loneliness, and the conflict between inherited cultural norms and individual self-formation. The study links prolonged alienation from female corporeality with neuropsychological and existential consequences, including aversion to otherness, sexual dysphoria, and ambivalent forms of sexuality.
