The article examines the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the visual arts as one of the most relevant areas of the modern digital environment. The historical path from the algorithmic art of the second half of the 20th century to modern generative technologies that open up new horizons for creativity is traced. The concepts of artificial intelligence in the artistic context are outlined and the main tools are analyzed, including Midjourney, DALL•E, Artbreeder, Runway ML and others. The key areas of AI application are highlighted: generating images based on text descriptions (prompt art), combining styles (style transfer), creating NFT art and using AI as an auxiliary tool for generating ideas, sketches and compositions. The article presents examples of the work of contemporary artists, in particular Refik Anadol and Anna Ridler, as well as student experiments and competition projects. Particular attention is paid to ethical aspects: copyright, the problem of plagiarism, transparency of algorithms and discussions about the emotional value of works created by AI. As a result, the role of artificial intelligence is noted not as a substitute for the artist, but as an innovative tool that expands the boundaries of artistic practice and has significant potential for integration into the educational process and professional activity.en_US
