Токсичність стокового дитячого одягу за прання синтетичними миючими засобами

Abstract

The toxicity of stock clothing caused by residual compounds of synthetic detergents remaining on the clothing after its washing was not investigated by the method of biotesting with Lepidium sativum, which determined the purpose of this work. Fabric samples after washing, drying and ironing were placed in self-made food plastic containers, moistened with distilled water and used as a basis for germinating the seeds of the test plant L. sativum. Germination energy, seed germination and biometric and morphometric indicators of seedlings were determined, phytotoxic indices were calculated. The results were processed statistically. The obtained data indicate the presence of residual compounds on waste clothes after washing them with synthetic detergents (in hand and machine washing), which are toxic to the test plant L. sativum, except for phosphate-free powder 2 and household soap when they are used for hand washing. To eliminate the toxicity of stock clothes, hand washing using household soap (72%) or phosphate-free powder (composition: > 30% sodium chloride, 15-30% sodium carbonate, 5-15% sodium silicate, < 5% TAED, fragrance) can be recommended with additional treatment with conditioner for children’s clothing (composition: < 5% cationic surfactants, < 5% nonionic surfactants, flavoring additive (hexyl cinnamal), preservative (benzisothiazolinone, methylisothiazolinone), aloe vera leaf juice). To reduce risks for children’s health, it should carefully approach the choice of detergents for washing children’s clothing.
